FREE Thanksgiving Pumpkin Placecard Printable
Just a few days until Thanksgiving and I am planning out our menu and calling family to make sure they are coming. I am also thinking about getting everyone around our small dining table. Assigning seats is something I always do when there are a lot of people coming to dinner so that no one gets stuck at the kids end of the table and so that my elderly family isn’t squeezing behind anyone. This Thanksgiving I printed up one of my designs, these colorful watercolor placecards.
And of course I am sharing them here with you for free! I have two different options for these, blank for you to write the names in by hand and also an editable PDF that you can type in everyone’s names nice and tidy for those of you who rather do that. There are many different fonts to choose from so take some time to find the one you love. Don’t forget I also sell printed versions of everything on the Blog on the website if you rather have a physical products.
Just scroll down to the bottom of this post for the link to this FREE THANKSGIVING PLACECARD PRINTABLE link.
Feel free to print up as many copies as you would like of this warm colored sheet. You can gift them to your favorite girlfriend and your awesome sister, too. Before you get wrapping away, make sure that you have the supplies you need! Below are some of my paid suggestions.
An inkjet printer (my favorite brand is Canon)
Heavy weight cardstock (splurge on something over 90lb for thicker placecards that won’t fold or tear)
Good cutting scissors
Your favorite pens
I added in these beautiful cloth dinner napkins above. I can’t say no to some lace. I’m going to try them out. I like that they will match with any color scheme and event!
I always suggest starting the process with a great printer. The better the printer the better the final product. I love the Canon printers. We have always used them in our stationery business. MAJOR TIP: Be sure to print on the photo paper setting to see the images turn out true to the original.
Load your heavy cardstock in the printer. Print as many as you need plus a few extra for mistakes if you are going to hand write the names. Remember, you can print as many copies as you would like.
Cut each out so there is no white showing around the pumkins.
Write each name out. There is more to this if you want your guest names to look dazzling.
First is the pen. I of course used a calligraphy pen on these, but my favorite pens that draw really nice lines are drawing pens that are even thinner than the thin sharpie. You will see a brand above that is available on Amazon. I have been using the Micron brand on everything lately. I will have to try this other brand out. If you do, let me know how they work.
Lines: I usually use an OLD OLD OLD Phantom Line to make guidelines on my paper before I write. See the pictures below. The first picture shows you how the Phantom Line looks set up. But the second picture shows you the “phantom” lines that magically show up on your paper when you are using it. You can get one used on Ebay. I can’t find them anywhere new. Not even my favorite calligraphy shop. But I use this ALL THE TIME.
The other option to keep your lines straight is to draw lines and erase after. It would be easy in this project just to use a ruler. But, if you are getting into calligraphy John Neal Books has lots of great guideliners.
Now your final step is setting them out on your lovely Thanksgiving table. I would love to see pictures of yours out! Email them to me at hello@designsbyrobynlove.com
